People driving through a testing location
Patients drive through a testing facility in Spokane to be tested for the COVID 19 virus. The County of San Diego closed a similar testing clinic in Cardiff.

On Wednesday, April 15, the County of San Diego issued orders to a “pop up” testing site at Mira Costa College campus in Cardiff to stop drive-through testing for COVID 19.

The lab, according to the County, had not provided satisfactory proof the test which were being performed were being processed by an approved lab facility. Once the testing site provides the necessary documentation to the County, it will be allowed to resume its testing.

The COVID Clinic was started by Orange County doctor Matthew Abinante and is not affiliated with the County Public Health Department. The clinic was conducting COVID-19 tests to San Diegans from their car.

According to the County, the clinic was charging $125 per person for the COVID-19 test and $75 for an antibody test.
