Hello, EUSD Families.
Welcome back from a spring break unlike any other. We hope that you were able to enjoy some downtime at home with family.
Here are the latest important updates.
Distance Learning: As a reminder, our campuses may be physically closed, but we are still open for learning! Our team is excited for the official launch of our Distance Learning plan tomorrow. All distance-learning materials and additional resources are available online, at eusd.org/students. By now, you and your child should have been contacted by your child’s teacher, and suggested schedules for teacher instruction and assistance have been established to facilitate distance learning. Teachers will be making efforts to connect with their students on an ongoing basis. These connections may be live class sessions or they may be more individualized, such as recorded videos, written messages, and/or phone calls. The instructional tasks offered may take two to three hours for elementary students and three to four hours for middle school students. Your family can create the schedule that works best for you.
The next distribution of printed instructional packets will be 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 17, at each school site. The packets are intended for families that do not have at-home access to a computer, tablet, or the internet.
Website: The district’s website has been updated to include a one-stop resource webpage for quick facts and answers to frequently asked questions related to education and school district operations during the COVID-19 public health crisis.
Nutrition: The district’s free to-go meal distribution continues from 11 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday. The distribution locations are Central, Juniper, and Rock Springs elementary schools; Del Dios Academy; Mission Middle School; and Escondido, Orange Glen, and San Pasqual high schools. Beginning Wednesday, April 15, the meal distribution at Mission Middle School will shift to the staff parking lot down the first alleyway. Please pick up meals at the school site closest to your home. Meals are provided for students 18 years and younger.
School choice: Notifications of school choice lottery results will begin Tuesday by phone for families that requested an intradistrict transfer for their child.
